Blogger Recognition Award

To begin with I’d like to thank Thee Adventurette for nominating me for the ‘Blogger Recognition Award.’ I absolutely adore her blog not only is I aesthetically pleasing but just a lovely blog to read that will always leave a smile on my face.  I am forever grateful for this award, this is my second award on Thee Wallflower Girl and I’m still in disbelief on  how far this little blog has gotten! I couldn’t be prouder with you guys, my lovely community who’ve helped Thee Wallflower Girl come so far.

The Beginning- Thee Wallflower Girl:

I begun my journey on  Thee Wallflower Girl on January 28th 2017, over the summer holidays. I’ve always had an urge to start a blog, to make my own little space to document my thoughts, express my feelings and to gather a lovely online community of readers. I’ve  been on the shy side for as long as I can remember, which means I scarcely express my feeling aloud. So this year I made it my priority to start a blog and thus Thee Wallflower Girl was born.

Some bits of Advice:

If you are a new blogger there are only 2 simple bits of advice I can give you:

1. Be yourself, I know this sounds so simple but I can guarantee you it is so much more complex then you think. We as bloggers can be so caught up in trying to make the ‘perfect’ blog, having the ‘perfect’ theme and editing our work a million times before we think its ‘perfect’ that by the end you’ve ended up with something so artificial that you’ve lost the bits in your blog that truly make it yours. There is no such thing as ‘perfection’ we aren’t all the same and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique. If every blog in the world was the same I can only imagine how boring that would be.

2. Blog about something your passionate about. The kind thing you can talk hours on end about. There is nothing more boring then reading someone blogging about a topic they have no interest in.

I hope these two bits of advice may be some use to someone whether you’ve just started a blog or have been blogging for many years, we have an urge to learn and can never stop learning. (:

A Little Life Update :)

Hello Everybody! 🙂 ❤

So I’m just sitting here on a warm summer’s day eating a slice of watermelon and I thought it would be the perfect day to give you a little update on my life.

As many of you may have noticed I haven’t been very active over the past few weeks and have been lacking new blog posts. I apologise for the delay, I wanted to make this post  long ago but unfortunately haven’t had the chance to. This blog post alone took over several days to conclude taken the circumstances.

These past few weeks, ever since school started, I’ve been a little under the weather. It feels like someone came along and bought me back into reality. Everyday has been strenuous and packed with homework. I spend hours on end drowning in studies after school, finishing everything of and prepping for future assessments that I’ve substituted absolutely anything and everything that I enjoy doing. I am not only very devoted to my studies but also involved in a range of extracurricular activities both in and out of school which only adds to the pressure. Despite the fact that I much relish studying, being organised and feeling put together, lately its all been a little to much.

As every week draws nearer to a weekend I know that I can finally relax and despite the fact that the weeks have just flown by drowning me in homework, I can finally take things slow and take delight in the things I love doing. I spend every free weekend I have to write a new blog post for you guys, my lovely community. I’ve said this many times before and will say again, I am so grateful for all of you for sticking around even though I haven’t been so active. I promise I’ll continue to write and catch up reading all your lovely blogs even if it takes a tad bit longer.

Souhaite moi bonne chance,

Thee Wallflower Girl xx

A Note to my Younger Self

Dear Younger Self,

You’ve been hated, made fun of, lied, talked about and broken at your wits end. I commend you that you are still standing speaks volume.

Fundamentally you’ve been though a hell of a rollercoaster ride, mostly encountering the downs. Finding the light at the end of the tunnel hasn’t always been so easy for you. You’ve lost your way a few times here and there, but all I  want you to know is no matter how long it takes even though you feel like the whole world may be against you, in the end you will be alright. I know that might be hard to grasp now but believe me you’ll thank me later.

So don’t worry about living the “perfect” life, cause there is no such thing as perfection. Live your life to the fullest, cherish the moments that make you smile and learn from your mistakes, don’t worry about tomorrow just live each day as it comes.

I can’t promise you anything but I will promise you that one day you will be happy for who you are and nobody will be able to say otherwise.

Jusqu’à la prochaine fois,

Thee Wallflower Girl xx

Things That Make Me Happy

Hello Everyone! 😛

We’ve all had our horrible gloomy days. So today I’ve compiled a list of things that make me  happy, these things never fail to leave a smile on my face even after a world of pain.

1. The sound of rain and thunder on a cloudy day – This one might sound a bit outlandish to most people, but these are the days I cherish the most. Just snuggling under a mountain of blankets inside my bedroom, listening to the thunder and rain outside just makes a  miserable day that little bit brighter.

2.  Watching a old chic flick – Even though they might be cheesy, extremely cringe to watch and you can always predict the ending, they never fail to lighten my mood.

3. Listening to music – Since my life practically lives and breathes music, listening to old school ballads on really high volume with headphones is always my go to on a bad day.

4. Reading a book – As I’m sure you’ve heard me say numerous times before I always fancy myself a good old book that takes me into a whole new world.

5. Shopping –  I love vintage clothes and I love going shopping for them even more,  I also like to shop for some bits and bobs for my room anything that can distract me on a gloomy day seems to work.

6. Looking at old photos of myself when I was little – I can’t really describe the feeling but flicking through old photos is just something special  even if  you were a little potato growing up XD.

7. Going out for a walk in fall – Who doesn’t love walking through the crunch of those lovely orange autumn leaves?

8. Texting my friends – My best friend is just pure awesomeness she always knows how to make me die of laughter and all our inside jokes never fail to crack me up.

9. Spending time with my kitty – I absolutely love my kitten “Pumpkin” most people might refer to her as a pet but Pumpkin is most definitely not a pet she is my anything and everything  and she’s always there to listen to me when I need her.

10. Blogging – This one just speaks for itself, there’s nothing I’d rather do more than blog about my moments and memories and share them with the internet world.

So here are the 10 things that make me happy, I hope you’ve had a pleasure reading through my list and I hope they might help make your day a tad bit brighter!  😀 ❤

Au revoir,

Thee Wallflower Girl xx

My Bucket List

Hello Everyone! 😛

Today is such a cosy day in Australia its cloudy and its also raining I like to call it “cuddle weather”, something we quite rarely get in the scorching summer days we have here but it makes me appreciate today even more. The type of weather which makes you cuddle up in a blanket with a mug of hot chocolate and I think its the perfect day to write a chit chatty new blog post, which you might have already guessed, is exactly what I’m doing today.

This bucket list is very personal to me and its very special to my heart it will give you a little peek into my life and what I want to achieve from it. I will only share  the top three things on my bucket list otherwise this blog post would be oh so very long! XD

Without further ado here is my Bucket List!

1. Visit England – I’ve always been very fond of England, the birth place of Shakespeare. There isn’t anything I don’t love about England, I love the climate, buildings. Also, it is surely enough  at the top of my bucket list and I can tell you now it holds a very strong place there.

2. Write a Book – There is a reason why this has always been on my bucket list. By no means am I saying I want to become an Author or  what not but as I’ve mentioned before I’ve always been very passionate about writing and reading, hence this blog. The idea of leaving something behind into the world has always seemed very special to me.

3. Spend Christmas in a place that snows – Christmas has always been my favourite holiday and as you might’ve guessed I’m one of those people who puts up there tree mid November! I know most people might think this one’s pretty overrated but living in Australia a place that doesn’t snow at all and is so hot at Christmas time, I can only imagine how nice it would be to spend Christmas in a place that snows just like the movies.

I hope you enjoyed reading my Bucket List as much as I enjoyed writing it and I’d love to read your bucket lists, so if you have any let me know! 😉

See you soon,

Thee Wallflower Girl xx

January Book Reviews

Hello Everyone! 😛

Reading has always been something I’ve been very passionate about and as a child, still to this very day you’ll always find me with my nose in a book whether it be in the middle of the night or in the car.

I have been reading ridiculously this month and I’ve gathered an amazing collection of books but I’ve narrowed it down to my top 3 picks for this month. There will be a mix of different genres and authors and a brief description for each book so there’s guaranteed to be something for everybody. I promise no spoilers! XD

The Memory Book – Lara Avery: Samantha is diagnosed with a rare disease and before she knows it her whole world crumbles to her feet, slowly all her memories are slipping away and her future which she has planned so perfectly comes to an end before it has even begun. Realizing her life is slipping away Samantha starts a diary where she records each day in detail, disobeying rules, going to parties and falling in love.  This book made me learn to embrace life and live it to the fullest. Once you’ve read this you’ll have a  completely different outlook on life.

The Walled City -Ryan Graudin: When I first picked this book up I never thought I’d like it as much as I did. Ryan Gradin described the Walled City in such grave detail and to believe that this place actually used to exist in Hong Kong is unbelievable! There are three rules of survival in the Walled City. Run Fast. Trust no one. Always carry a knife.

Dai: Traffics drugs for the most ruthless man in the Walled city. To seek his freedom he needs help from someone who can be invisible.

Jin: Hides under the radar, evading the street gangs. Jin disguises as a boy in order for her only chance to  search for her lost sister.

Mei Yee: Is trapped in a brothel, dreaming of escape but the girls who try and fail die until one day she sees a unexpected face at her window.

Damaged and betrayed  these three come together to beat the clock and to find freedom from the city walls.

The Manifesto on how to be Interesting – Holly Bourne: Holly Bourne captures the struggles of many teenage girls in this very relatable book. If I didn’t include this book in this month’s favourites this review would have been incomplete. This book taught me everything and truly made me love myself for who I am.

Bree is by no means popular. Most of the time, she hates her life, her school and her parents who are never home. So she writes. Bree has always aspired to be a writer but when she’s told she need to stop shutting the world out and start living a life worth writing about, The manifesto on how to be Interesting is born.  A manifesto that puts her friends, family and life at steak but just how far will Bree go before she realises her own mistakes?

So this concludes my January favourites book review, hopefully one of these books has captured your attention. If  you read any of these please let me know what are your opinions and also if you  have any suggestions or are interested to know some of the books I’ve be reading throughout this year just let me know! 😉 ❤

See you soon,

Thee Wallflower Girl xx
